WDTC currently provides agility training near Steventon, South Oxfordshire.

Training classes are taught by experienced agility competitors/instructors, many of whom are also active club members with their own dogs.

Several of our trainers attend training courses in order to keep up to date with modern training methods. Most trainers hold recognised training qualifications from Agility Club and/or Agility 1st after successfully completing those training courses.

As well as regular weekly training sessions, the club holds occasional social events for members, their families and friends.

Competing

Caroline and Pablo

WDTC organise a large two day agility show every April at Newbury Showground. This show has about 11-13 rings running each day and attracts over 7,400 entries. The income from the show subsidises our training, pays for new equipment and guest trainers.

A show this size needs lots of helpers so we hope all our members would like to help at our show.

We take part in a winter league series, competing against other local clubs. We encourage all our members to take part in this as soon as they are ready to compete.

Winter League 2022-23

After many members were not available in the first match, we finished the season with a respectable 3rd place overall.

Several of our dogs had their first ever competitive run here. We achieved 100 Clears, 99 rounds with faults, and 133 Es.

We also run our own club league, with awards each year.

Maxi enjoying the Christmas Party

Several evenings a year we hold special ‘course nights’ to give less experienced handlers and dogs course practice. We also organise something special around Christmas time, which generally includes food, drink, fancy dress and Secret Santa!

Library and Shop

The Club maintains a small library of training books and videos and some equipment, available on free loan to members.

Tea and coffee are freely available to enable members to take a break and get to know each other.

A variety of sports clothing, embroidered with the club logo, is available for the more fashion conscious member to purchase from Crazydogs

Agility Demonstrations at Local Events

WDTC will organise demonstrations of agility at local events when this does not clash with other events or shows we are attending. Either as a standalone, or as part of a wider day of entertainment.

We showcase the wide variety of breeds and size dogs that can take part in agility, the competing partnerships, and demonstrate how we train.

We charge a fee to the organisers of the event in order to cover costs and the maintenance and servicing of our trailer, which is essential for these events.
